The most important thing that has ever happened to me was passing my KCSE Exams (the national exams Kenyans take at the end of high school). You see, I got suspended from school indefinitely in my last year, right before the Mock examinations. I used to get into a lot of trouble. I was in a boarding school and I was always looking for ways to get out of school, especially to go for fun functions which we call “funkies” over here. But I have always been a low key hard worker, so I used to READ!!! Well actually, I would rephrase that to say that I worked smart, not hard. All the other exams I did in a very free style manner, but KCSE was very different. Having been a bright student since primary school, everybody’s expectations on me were too high. My parents, my friends….everyone. It created a very tense atmosphere for me, since I didn’t wat to fail. The exams were hard, but I expected good results.
The day the results came, it turned out that I was one of the top pupils in my school! I was so happy and so excited. That’s how I ended up where I am now, at the University of Nairobi, doing a Bachelor’s in Economics and Statistics. Buuuuuut, I don’t think that’s the path my life is set for.
I discovered that I want to be in the entertainment industry. I want to be one of the BEST entertainers Kenya has ever had. So right now, I do Vines. My end goal is to do commercial television adverts, billboards, and hopefully even end up in movies.
